A bit about me
I'm a web designer currently working in the financial sector as the senior digital designer. I've been designing for the web now for over ten years but still like to take the opportunity to keep my fingers in print work as well as drawing.
My Background
Central to my work is my interest in art and thats evolved through my education and career from technical drawing, illustration, design and product design to take me to where I am now - web design, usability and illustration.
I graduated from Brunel university with a degree in Product Design studying a range of subjects from art history to ergonmics. For my placement year I chose to develop my skills in graphic design and human factors with BT as a Flash and Web designer. This was extended by a further six months.
After finishing my degree I worked in a start up company which was an exciting, fast paced atmosphere and I had two great years working there as web and print designer.
My career at the FSA started as a contractor and I was made permanent in 2005 to help with the redesign of the corporate site. Two years later I was promoted to Senior Digital Designer. I've worked on some interesting and varied projects including collaborations with external organisations and agencies. We're currently implementing Vignette CMS and collaboration tools.
I currently do occasional freelance work for small start up companies and have previously worked for larger oraganisations such as Age Concern, Audi, NHS and Scope.
I'm always intereested in hearing about opportunities so please feel free to say hello - and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
